Today the use of the Personal Computer has become as common as using the telephone. However, not everyone is as familiar with computers as they are with their telephone.

Computer Bytes will introduce you to basic and, at times, more advanced computer operations and maintenance, as well as, offer simple answers to your computer questions. We will also show you the many ways the Internet can be used and 'surfed'.

If you are planning on buying a computer in the near future, consider how you plan on using it. Will it be for business? Playing games? Basic home use? Typically when purchasing a computer you have the option of selecting processing speed, amount of storage space and the programs your computer will run. Some programs to consider for business use may be a data-base program for tracking inventory; a bookkeeping program for maintaining accounts and tax records; a word processing program for client contact; and a graphics program for generating business cards and brochures. A computer used primarily for playing games will need a great deal more memory and storage for processing the game programs for the kids. And, a computer used in the home will most likely have minimal requirements, ie, less memory, basic programs, fewer external accessories - which will also help keep the cost down.

Bottom line - if you are in the market for a new computer, shop around. Talk to friends and family. Find out what kind of computer they have and if they are they happy. Were there problems? Was the manufacturer responsive to these problems? Was Customer Support helpful in getting the computer set up, if help was needed? Ask many questions and get as much information as you can before making the decision as to which computer you will purchase.Moncrief Web Design - ISP - Web 2
